They were not detained. They were arrested.

    a) Never visit a totalitarian country if you can help it.
    b) All predominately socialist countries are totalitarian. There are no exceptions.
    c) if you find yourself visiting a totalitarian country anyway, avoid breaking its laws.
    d) If you’ve managed to follow c, but still get arrested, realize that if the value in arresting you is higher than the value in not arresting you, c can not be followed, because you’ll break a law even if you don’t.

    As an aside, if the country is known to execute criminals and harvest their organs, the 4 points above should all be starred.
