Incomplete Journalism on Religious Freedom

I think the lack of religious freedom worldwide can be linked to Lutherans. And the Amish.*

It could be linked to the fact that in a lot of countries you can be prosecuted for “hate speech” for saying anything that anyone takes offense to. Like marriage should be between one man and one woman. Or killing babies in the womb is wrong. Or Jesus was the Son of God. Or take your pick of any number of things in the Bible that some people find offensive.

  2. The article mentions “blasphemy laws” without actually identifying the religion which is being “blasphemed.” So, actually our liberals would be jailed or worse for saying the opposite of what you mentioned.
The UK, France, Canada and Germany are formerly western religious countries which are now leading the charge you describe, Other Latin F*cker. Yes, it will be (and in some cases is now) illegal to promote the Judaeo-Christian view of marriage or homosexuality. If your speech might offend, you will at least be hassled.
This notion of hate speech is very dangerous, but not in the way the left imagines.

Hate speech laws are a subset of secular blasphemy laws. The socialists of the world would inevitably like to create more. I think we’ve all heard about the calls from certain quarters to arrest people for “denying” global warming.. which is a phenomena they’re so confident about that they have to rename it every 5 years.
