Berkeley Antifa Leader Charged

Hot Air:

Tuesday, police arrested Yvette Felarca, a Berkeley middle-school teacher who is one of the leaders of the Antifa group By Any Means Necessary. Felarca is charged with inciting a riot last June in Sacramento, CA. From Berkeleyside:

Felarca was captured on video hitting a member of the Traditional Worker’s Party, a white supremacist group that had taken out permits for a rally on the west steps of the state capitol. Felarca, a member of the group By Any Means Necessary, and other counter-protesters blocked the rally by chasing and hitting and even stabbing members of the Traditional Worker’s Party.

This video appears to show Felarca punching a protester in the stomach before other members of her group jump him:

[A quick Google shows that the Craft Blog does not support the Traditional Workers Party core beliefs. I don’t care if they’re full blown racist Nazis. It appears they were peacefully assembling. We’re all about free speech here. — Dave]

Law enforcement might actually have to be more proactive against Antifa. The masked rioters needed to be carted away.

The report lists 514 misdemeanor and 68 felony violations involving 106 people relating to everything from unlawful assembly to assault with a deadly weapon, according to a prepared statement.

The CHP said its investigators “faced several challenges” as they did their work. Authorities said, in particular, many people involved with the rally tried “to disguise their identities and did not cooperate with investigators.”

The rioters are a part of an organized, masked, leftist domestic terror group — whose aim is to shut down free speech and prevent people from exercising their right to free association. Charges were filed on 4 people.

America cannot cede the streets to hoodlums.

Berkeley, so probably no chance unless she’s convicted.

Until it gets really violent on both sides [and I fear that is coming] the police in Leftist cities will do little to nothing to curb the violence, nor will the courts. When it does get violent on both sides we’ll just have to see what the police and courts do. I don’t think the situation is quite ‘ripe’ yet, but perhaps by next summer. Meanwhile I’m investing in the heavier metals — iron and lead.

    • Bring a mask and a weapon to a public event and then start a riot = federal charges. That’s the way it should be. I fear the unequal application of law, but there has to be some punishment, or this will get much messier.

Thankfully, there are still some islands of sanity. Antifas got brought up hard when they tried to come into Auburn to disrupt Richard Spencer’s event there.

As I understand it the Auburn police trotted out some of the old laws they’d used against the Klan to stymie the little shits, which gives me great joy 🙂
