Interior Cabinet Secretary John Smith has said the government will sponsor a Bill to bar hate-mongers from running in elections.
Smith said the bill will empower the electoral commission to bar those found guilty of hate speech from seeking elective office.
“We plan to sponsor a bill that will ensure those who engage in hate speech are completely barred from running in the next general election,” he said.
He said it is unfortunate that leaders who make inflammatory statements are treated as heroes by the community.
As an experiment, I edited an article found here. It’s from Kenya.
Does it sound plausible? Would that ever work here? Because that is exactly the kind of thing a college student an one of our elite schools will suggest to her roommate sometime in the next three minutes.
“Because he’s such a hater, why don’t we pass a law that all haters can’t run for office. Ohmygod! I just said that!”
