I Got a Bad Feeling About This…

The Daily Mail:

Armed police officers have launched a raid on a mosque and several homes belonging to a group believed to be radicalising Muslims in Germany

Apartments belonging to eight board members of the radical German-speaking Islamic group DIK were searched by officers in Hildesheim, Lower Saxony.

It comes as part of a crackdown on the group, which is thought to have been encouraging people to travel to Syria and Iraq to join ISIS

The group ran sermons, seminars and lectures entitled ‘the hatred of infidels’, according to German media.

One of the most dangerous aspects of the threat posed by “radical Islam” is the notion that Islam is simply another religion, like Buddhism or Christianity. Most adherents are peaceful, we’re told. Statistically this is obvious, since there are at least a billion and a half Muslims in the world, and clearly they’re not all cutting throats and bombing office buildings.

Just some.

Germany has strong hate speech laws, in part because if it’s Nazi past. The actions described above will undoubtedly make Germans pleased that their government is taking action against radical Islam.

It’s not like Germany has a history of religious intolerance.

I have said before that Islam may in fact nor qualify as a religion under the common meaning.  Islam commands that military actions take place.  Some Muslims clearly are out to conquer or kill the infidels.  Those guys.  Yeah, I know we have to contain, control or kill those guys.  Our society is at stake.

I know what hell on earth we’ll have if the west loses.  Sometimes I wonder what will be in place after the west wins.

Suppose these efforts are totally successful. Do they translate to the American experience, given our vision of “freedom of religion?”

Can these same types of actions be taken against your church?
Do your church members speak openly against abortion or other things which society considers a right?
Do your members consider God above the state in terms of priorities?
Do your fellow church goers refuse to accept gay or transsexual clergy?
Do your members hold dangerous opinions?

wrong questions, as expected. Does your religion command you to kill the non-believers? Don’t care about preaching or attempting conversion. Speech is free, and non-criminal actions likewise.

If your religion commands you to commit crimes against non-members there we have a problem.

The commandments of Islam fail Jefferson’s test for religious liberty. They specifically threaten my life, my liberty, my wealth, and that of everyone else.

  3. From Sarah Hoyt’s blog yesterday (a long post which led to two parallel discussions on dealing with Islam and preferred OSs)

And short of a really hard ass position, the sort of thing a civilized and decent people don’t do — like killing everyone from the same area as a terrorist, or everyone who might have known, or… — we are on a train that has only one stop.

Eventually — it took centuries before, I don’t think it will take as long now, but it might take another decade or two. Less if the attacks keep coming closer together — the West will lose patience. And this time we do have weapons that mean predominantly Muslim areas simply stop existing.

We are in fact, trying to convince Muslims to allow us to let them live.

    And it’s not going well.

As the (not) joke goes, “We ain’t played Cowboys and Muslims yet”…

It astounds me Muslims will come to a dhimmi country where everything is wrong instead of going to a majority-muslim country where their cultural rules are already in force.. Why???
