A Friday Night Rerun: Why Bother?

From June 10th, rerun here to remind folks why is matters that Aaron Walker, Sarah Palmer and Eric Johnson won the case against Bill Schmalfeldt:

bill cartoon

Why do we spend any time on the likes of Bill Schmalfeldt and Brett Kimberlin?  It’s not because they are such notoriously effective liars that they are sullying the reputations of dozens of good people.

That’s the best thing I can say about Team Kimberlin: they are NOT effective liars.

On the other hand, they continue to lie, and their yarns are getting more obscene.  Brett Kimberlin of all people calls somebody an obsessed sexual stalker.  Dude.  He earned that merit badge in the ’70’s.

Bill Schmalfeldt wants to rewrite history with himself as the hero of a morality play in which he is harassed by the guy who had to get a court to stop Bill from bothering him.

If I can contribute anything, it’s to calmly document alongside Billysez and Hogewash the absolute stupidity of the Team Kimberlin activity.

These guys are the enemies of online free speech.  You have a perfect right to examine the very public activities of these very public individuals.  Both of these characters want to take that right away.  That’s why we bother.

The threats to the First Amendment come almost daily, and from a variety of directions. Religious freedom and free speech rights are under assault.  I reject hate and bigotry but when people offer you a country where there is no hate speech, they want to choose what is hateful, and what can be said.  When public figures want to speak their minds but control yours, you have a right to be angry.

There was a time when everyone had to take a course on government which included reading and discussing the Constitution. Apparently it has been sometime since that was a requirement; which is why we have progressive cry babies who think people must PROVE they have a right to free speech. And I give you, Thomas A Mix of Vero Beach, my particular barnacle who is convinced that it is illegal to even mention his name let alone discus his publicly posted screed. The man who has perjured, and contradicted himself in a lawsuit in an outrageous attempt at shutuppery!

along with teaching the constitution and civics, somewhere along the way the idea of teaching responsibility went out the window as well.

today it’s all about this person’s right, or that person’s right but NO ONE wants to think about let alone talk about a person’s responsibility. Such as the responsibility to be held accountable for your actions, responsibility for the consequences of your actions to name a few

Bill, Brett, and the rest of Team Kimbergarten have forgotten this. Thankfully our courts haven’t (at least not completely)

People today don’t have a clue how to reason and think logically it is all their feelings. There is no civilized discussion with people when it is all about how they feel. That with education telling everyone how wonderful they are has unleashed a horde of self-righteous nincompoops
