Cargo Cults, Empathy and Bill Schmalfeldt

Stupid? Arrogant? Narcissistic?
Paul Krendler puts Bill Schmalfeldt’s legal strategy under the microscope and explains a “cargo cult.” Worth a read.

We can apply the “Cargo Cult” label to the law when we see a pro se litigant aping the argument of some other party in some other case, simply because it worked before. Like the Cargo Cult islanders in the South Pacific, he sets up the same framework, goes through the same motions, and expects the same results. But the planes still don’t land.

The central issue is of course what is it with Bill Schmalfeldt, who is being sued and who is suing others for online writings. Let me offer suggestions, as someone who was faildoxxed by Schmalfeldt and as someone who has followed his online writings.

  • Bill Schmalfeldt does not know how others will react in a given situation. This lack of empathy shows up in his comedy. He really figures that others will laugh at a comedy skit where former Texas Governor Rick Perry imagines cubs scouts will be participating in anal sex while a counselor watches. He thought his Daily Kos essay about anal rape was edgy, but insightful.
Some time after he posted my home address, and some embarrassing public records about my finances, and contacted my employer, Bill Schmalfeldt actually said we’d probably enjoy each other’s company while having a beer together. I can’t remember if this was before or after he photoshopped my face onto a dog’s ass.
  • Bill Schmalfeldt has a very short memory for his own mistakes. Psychologists might figure this is a defense mechanism. Sure, maybe. This might be a true memory issue. Time after time he has asked Lickspittles and Zombies to name people he has actually hurt.  He should know already about many.  See above: dog’s ass, my face.
  • Bill Schmalfeldt hates women. Or maybe he just does not respect them. The photos online of his late wife are proof positive. No older woman wants to be photographed braless in a tank top. No one wants their deathbed photo shared ever.
His attitude toward any woman who disagrees with him has been borderline sick. He has accused women of moral failures, of child abuse, and has even described one woman as a possible child victim of abuse. If he dislikes a woman, a sexual comment will follow.
  • Bill Schmalfeldt does not understand enough about the law to practice it.  His ego will not let him quit.  He is convinced of his ‘rightness’ and will carry on until a judge decides his cases.  Quit is not in his vocabulary.

I did not claim that Bill Schmalfeldt is stupid.  He does things which are impulsive and evil.  He writes things which he shouldn’t, and seems to misunderstand the consequences.  More than anything, his inability to see the natural consequences of his writing will undo him.

  1. http://psychcentral.com/blog/archives/2015/02/12/differences-between-a-psychopath-vs-sociopath/
“Sociopaths, in general, tend to be more impulsive and erratic in their behavior than their psychopath counterparts. While also having difficulties in forming attachments to others, some sociopaths may be able to form an attachment to a like-minded group or person. Unlike psychopaths, most sociopaths don’t hold down long-term jobs or present much of a normal family life to the outside world.

When a sociopath engages in criminal behavior, they may do so in an impulsive and largely unplanned manner, with little regard for the risks or consequences of their actions. They <b<may become agitated and angered easily, sometimes resulting in violent outbursts. These kinds of behaviors increase a sociopath’s chances of being apprehended.”

    Sound at all familiar?

“Quit is not in his vocabulary.”

The Deranged Cyberstalker Bill Schmalfeldt’s employment history tells a very different story.

Or, did he get FIRED from all of those numerous jobs he held over his “working career?”
