Do You Know Why Nobody Else Has Every Produced an Upbeat “Often Humorous” Look into Widowhood?

Would it be wrong of me to wonder if Sandra DeLong could be a guest?OFTEN HUMOUROUS In a weird way, I wish him luck.

It will be quite a challenge to create a lighthearted, often humorous look into the wacky challenges faced by those devil-may-care widows and widowers. The antics! The goofy situations!

Who knows.  Bill Schmalfeldt might become the Pied Piper of Widows and Widowers.  The subject matter is spot on, but the tone of his promotion just seems…odd.  Leave it to Bill to never quite hit the right note:

But god help anyone else who tries talking a “lighthearted” and “humorous” look at his widowhood! William gets all litigious about that.

You know, if he actually bought that motorized scooter, then he could befriend a Hmong neighbor boy, and nobly get himself killed while extracting that boy from a gang’s influence. And he’d leave that cool motorized scooter to the Hmong boy in his will instead of to his disrespectful, ingrate grandchildren.

Just like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino!

  4. I was thinking about the contrast between my Dad, who is on his third wife because he’s already dealt with the unique challenges of out-living the first two, and Bill’s whining about losing his soulmate. It occurred to me that one of the ways a widowed guy could avoid having only one soulmate [and therefore doomed to loneliness until death] is to NOT be so repulsive and nasty as a person that only one other person will ever tolerate your bullshit, much less love you.
