Is `Muslim` an Insult?

Cut. Jib. Newsletter asks that question, and gives a very concise roundup of the kid with the clock story combined with the Donald Trump dustup.  I’m not the first person to notice that the clock looks a lot like a commercially available product with the guts put in a suitcase.

Just not “Forward Progress.”

`Muslim` is a lot like `Jew.` Say the word with emphasis, and you have changed its meaning. Plus the pork thing.

The response to the Donald Trump question about the president being a Muslim: (from Cut. Jib. Newsletter)

Hilary Clinton via Twitter:

“Donald Trump not denouncing false statements about POTUS & hateful rhetoric about Muslims is disturbing, & just plain wrong. Cut it out,”

DNC chairman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz:

“GOP front-runner Donald Trump’s racism knows no bounds. This is certainly horrendous but unfortunately unsurprising given what we have seen already. The vile rhetoric coming from the GOP candidates is appalling.”

Nice job of tarring all the candidates with a broad brush, Deb.

With Democrats hectoring Republicans about what can and cannot be said, we’re in a world of hurt. Not every stupid question needs a big “condemnation” moment.

For the record, according to the editorial staff at Dave Alexander & Company, Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, is a Christian and is really, really bad at his job.  When faced with a decision which pits the interests of America against the interests of Muslim nations, he always goes with the Muslim nation.  When given an opportunity to tout American achievements or American failures, he chooses the failures.  It just looks like he’s a Muslim, since he’s done so much to destroy  fundamentally change America.

Read the whole thing at Cut. Jib. Newsletter, and read the comments.  Someone uses the term “special sandflakes.”

Claims to be Christian and deserves the benefit of the doubt, if you ask me. OTOH, from what I’ve seen of his practice of Christ’s teachings; color me unimpressed.

My opinion, he’s an atheist. He’s dabbled in Christianity, Islam, Black Liberation, some Anamism (Gaia); but he’s only looked at them for their philosophical value. I don’t think he believes that Christ is our Lord and Savior. I don’t think he believes that Allah is God, and Mohamed is his prophet. I don’t even think he believes the earth is our Sacred Mother and deserving of our devotion. I do think he was quite comfortable in Jeremiah Wright’s congregation. He is the center of his universe, it is apostasy to suggest otherwise.

He’s a variation of a Feldtchart in which all arrows point back to him.

      I’m with you, Gus.

I think one clear demarcation between a truly spiritual person and a poseur is that a true believer’s faith drives positive change in his behavior, where a poseur uses whatever faith is handy as a justification for his bad behavior.
